The City in the Sea

Lo Death has Reared Himself a Throne
In a strange city lying alone

Lo! a strange town, lying alone
Death has reared himself a throne
Far down in the west
Where the good, bad, worst, and the best have gone to their eternal rest
There, shrines and towers:
Death has reared himself a throne
Time-eaten towers that tremble not
resemble nothing, nothing that is ours
Down, down in that town, shall settle hence:
Hell rising from its throne, no earthly moans,
Shall do it reverence.
No rays from heaven coming down
On the long night-time of that town
But light from out the lurid sea
Streams up the turrets silently
Gleams up the pinnacles far and free
Up domes -- up spires -- up kingly halls --
Up fanes -- up Babylon-like walls --
No swellings tell that winds may be
Upon some far-off happy seas
No heavings hint that winds may be
On seas less hideously serene.
But lo, a stir is in the air!
The wave -- there is a movement there!
As if the towers had thrust aside,
In slightly sinking, the dull tide,
Acquiescently beneath the sky
The melancholy waters lie
The waves now have a redder glow
The hours are breathing faint and low
And when, amid no earthly moans
Down, down in that town, shall settle hence,
Hell, rising from a thousand thrones.
Shall do it reverence.
Down, down in that town shall settle hence,
Hell, rising from its throne, no earthly moans,
Shall do it reverence.
There are open fanes and gaping graves
Yawn level with the luminous waves
But not the riches there that lie
In each idol's diamond eye
Not the gaily-jewelled dead
Tempt the waters from their bed
So blend the turrets, shadows there
That all seem pendulous in air
While from a tower in the town
Death looks down
But lo, a stir is in the air!
The waves have now a redder glow
The hours are breathing faint and low
And when amid no earthly moans,
Down, down in that town, shall settle hence:
Hell, rising from a thousand thrones,
Shall do it reverence.
Far down within the dim west
Where the good and the bad and
The worst and the best
Have gone to their eternal rest.
Waves have now
A red glow
Hours breathe low
No men moan

Metaphysics of a Hangman

I can't wait for the new Ocean Collective album Heliocentric to drop.

In the mean time I have an influx of new albums.
Some really fantastic stuff I'm excited to share.

Monument

We are moments, men, and places.
We are planets, monuments to stars
Monuments to old souls
They are the watchmen,
We are just men.

Lost in a daydream. What did you see?

I got written up for being late to work the other morning.

Kristine, Matt, Curt, Zak and I went to Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Saturday.
We had a lot of fun.
I stared into the NY nightskyline while drinking this thick german beer that tasted like banana and listening to The Strokes.

I'd really like to get a turntable.

Around the World.

So its Saturday. March 13th/2010
Thursday I went with Tiina, Matt & Kristine to see Four Year Strong.
The Chance sucks. That place is so damn loud. Whatever.
FYS was great, ETID kinda sucked but was great to watch.

That pretty much made my week.

I crashed at Matts. We woke up and had a mini jam session. It was awesome.

Still can't stop listening to Alive!2007. This album blows my mind.
Also, TRON.

Welcome to My Life

This is the latest Baroness album.
This is why I don't rip the spine out of people that irritate me.

5-6 hours of my week. Roads. Nighttime.
Bane of my existence.
But I can't complain,
they're my friends.

This is Sonic.

Thats about it.

Goodnight.

It's 10:21.

My Blood type's Krylon Technicolor type A

Not much to write about today. I feel like crap & the torn ligament in my neck decided to say hello. I looked like a robot for about 3 hours of work yesterday. It was funny and painful.

Above all..I am still very happy all the time.
My world may be collapsing and changing every second of the day..
Its been a really long time since I woke up.

It makes my whole day better.

I’ve been diggin into crates ever since I was livin in space
Before the ratrace, before monkeys had human traits I mastered numerology and bigbang theology Performed lobotomies with telekinetic psychology Invented the mic so I could start blessin it Chincheckin kids to make my point like an impressionist Many men have tried to shake us But I twist mic cords in double helixes and show them what I’m made of I buckle knees like leg braces Cast the spell of instrumentalness and all of you emcees who hate us So you can try on, Leave you without a shoulder to cry on From now to infinity let icons be bygones I fire bomb ghostly notes haunt this I tried threats but moved on to a promise I stomp this with or without an accomplice And run the gauntlet with whoever that wants this

And so the Floodgates will open..

I got a new Blogger app for my newly hacked iPhone running 3.1.3. I've been pretty behind on things, so it's nice to catch up and finally have the ability to send and receive picture messages after...a 2 year silence haha.

I worked from 2-6 today and it was pretty relentless. I'm exhausted. I do somewhat miss construction and hope work picks up soon.

In other news, Cloudkicker is still blowing my mind and Discovery is one of the most awesome CDs I've heard in a long time.

Friday will be a great day.
